The Cambridge Diet is a world renowned, highly successful weight loss programme. The company encourages customers to follow the diet through its counsellors as they provide support and greater success as most have been on the programme themselves. Consequently, the counsellors order all the diet products on behalf of their clients.

"Antika developed an e-commerce system for the Cambridge Manufacturing Company Limited, home of the world famous “Cambridge Diet”. This was designed to accommodate the growing demand from its network of trained counsellors to place orders outside of normal office hours, and to reduce the burden (and delays) in the telephone ordering system. The webstore was designed and developed by Antika, to integrate with the company’s existing sales order processing systems. In the space of six months the webstore has grown to take over 40% of the company’s order inflow. Michael Swinburne, Interim Financial Controller, commented that without the new webstore it would behave been difficult if not impossible to accommodate the recent growth in sales.

When CMC approached Antika its counsellors were placing all orders through a telephone sales facility, and it wanted to make this process more cost effective both in speed of ordering and round the clock accessibility. Antika developed a secure administrative website for counsellors to make these purchases at any time. The complex shopping basket included all counsellor discounts (which varied on the amount of sales made), VAT irregularities and counsellor loyalty schemes.
